Description

You will work on the Nexus initiative to consolidate customer-facing systems into a single application. The squad you join delivers backend features that support UI functionality for tens of thousands of customers. You’ll contribute across the full development lifecycle, taking ownership of technical design and mentoring technical team members.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle in an Agile environment

• Take responsibility for the design and architecture of technical solutions

• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code

• Ensure solutions follow specifications and review procedures

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA

• Document components and methodologies as required

• Mentor other technical members

Requirements

• 5+ years of Java experience in a professional environment

• 5+ years of relational database experience (SQL)

• 5+ years of REST APIs, microservices, databases, unit testing, Git, and Agile methodology

• Strong knowledge/experience with messaging platforms (Kafka or Redpanda)

• Advanced English speaking and writing

• Ability to take accountability for technical designs and justify solutions

• Professional handling of constructive feedback; ability to learn and adapt

• Strong verbal and written communication; effective interpersonal skills

• Sense of urgency, honesty, curiosity, tenacity, strong work ethic, and attention to detail

• University qualification in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or strong GitHub portfolio showcasing recent projects)
