Description

You will design, maintain, and enhance cloud-native infrastructure that supports data science workloads and generative AI applications. The role focuses on building a reliable, secure, and observable platform on GCP using Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and automated CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Work in a distributed DevOps team using agile practices

• Design and operate core GCP infrastructure for Python/ML/AI workloads

• Maintain and improve Kubernetes environments with Helm and ArgoCD

• Develop and review Terraform modules and cloud configurations

• Manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines across applications, infrastructure, and ML projects

• Implement and optimize autoscaling strategies for workloads and clusters

• Ensure observability using monitoring, logging, and tracing (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo)

• Troubleshoot issues across cloud, container, networking, and application layers

• Improve platform reliability, cost efficiency, and developer experience

• Educate developers and data scientists on best practices within the stack

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional DevOps (or related) experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or related field

• Strong expertise with a major cloud provider (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable)

• Extensive hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes production systems

• Experience with Helm charts and GitOps (ArgoCD)

• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform

• Strong CI/CD pipeline experience, ideally with GitLab CI

• Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting; networking fundamentals

• Observability experience (Grafana stack; ELK relevant)

• Autoscaling knowledge (HPA/VPA, KEDA, cluster autoscaler)

• Basic security understanding to mitigate common vulnerabilities

• Fluent English (German is a plus)
