Description

You will safely and efficiently transfer various types of barges, troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance, and train other Tankerman in accordance with MPC procedures/standards and United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations. This is a field role on barges, vessels, fleets, and terminals, requiring you to work independently in remote locations and in all weather conditions (day and night). Excellent professionalism and interpersonal skills are critical.

Responsibilities

• Conduct barge transfers following MPC procedures and all applicable USCG regulations/guidelines

• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges

• Handle all phases of barge transfers, including heater operation on hot oil barges

• Maintain records and document all transfer times for timely office submission

• Maintain uniforms and transfer equipment in clean, ready condition

• May conduct transfer audits on third-party Tankerman and assist in training new Tankerman

• Interface with customers per MPC policies/procedures

• Participate in safety and training activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid driver’s license

• Own dependable transportation and ability to travel to work locations (and by boat) up to ~200 miles from the lower Ohio/Nashville base

• USCG-issued Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Tankerman-PIC (Barge) endorsement

• Valid DL (dangerous liquid) qualification

• Valid USCG medical certificate

• Obtain a TWIC card within 2 weeks of employment

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
