As a Data Analyst intern, you will leverage large datasets through real-time analytical and quantitative analysis to provide insights that drive strategic and tactical decisions. You will collaborate with Air Traffic Strategy Managers and front-line teams to interpret complex data and transform it into actionable recommendations across United.

You will support operational efficiency by utilizing large datasets, building and validating operational dashboards and analyses, translating data into practical operational recommendations, and ensuring data integrity through quality assurance and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage and operationalize large data sets to enhance decision support for front-line personnel

  • Build, develop, and validate operational dashboards and analyses aligned to strategic and tactical operational questions

  • Translate data into practical operational examples and recommendations for front-line teams

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control to ensure integrity of data and accuracy of insights

Requirements

  • Studying a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Aeronautics, Air Traffic) or equivalent practical experience

  • Proven expertise in applied statistics and empirical data analysis techniques with real-world application

  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools/languages such as Python and SQL

  • Experience designing and creating operational dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally and translate complex findings into actionable insights

  • Adept problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

  • Understanding of air traffic control operations and the aviation industry is a plus
