Quick Facts

  • Role: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst
  • Focus: AIM28 program-level analytics, reporting, and value-realization measurement

Description

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for building and scaling AIM28’s analytics, reporting, and value-realization measurement capabilities. Reporting to the AIM28 Finance Lead, the role designs and owns end-to-end data models, ETL pipelines, dashboards, and automation solutions that transform complex, fragmented data into trusted insights for executives and program leaders, including AI-ready capabilities (automated narratives and conversational agents). This is a finance-embedded position acting as the sole technical IC for AIM28 reporting, responsible for establishing governed “one version of the truth” across KPI and benefit methodologies.

What You’ll Do

  • Program & Big Bet reporting: Design, build, and maintain AIM28 program-level and Big Bet-level dashboards tracking KPIs, benefits, investments, milestones, and value realization as the single source of truth.
  • Develop executive-facing reporting for Steering Committee meetings, business reviews, and leadership updates; translate complex program data into actionable insights.
  • Reporting automation: Automate recurring benefit and program reporting end to end by replacing manual, file-based processes with scheduled, validated, monitored data flows.
  • Implement automation opportunities, including AI capabilities such as automated narratives and summaries.
  • Data engineering & transformation: Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and clean large multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources.
  • Ingest and integrate Big Bet data into harmonized datasets and data models (raw operational data, manual files, and business-built dashboards).
  • Establish business logic converting raw data into certified reporting; document logic, lineage, and metric definitions for auditability.
  • Design semantic models and curated datasets for dashboard self-service and for AI agents.
  • KPI & benefit frameworks: Codify KPI definitions and benefit-realization methodologies into governed data models for consistent measurement across Big Bets.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs; implement data-quality checks, reconciliation, and anomaly detection to protect trust in the numbers.
  • Deep-dive analysis & insights: Conduct deep-dive analyses of KPI movements, benefit variances, and program performance; identify root causes and recommendations.
  • Answer ad hoc analytical questions and triangulate across sources to validate data fidelity.
  • Self-service & adoption: Enable governed self-service analytics; own delivery end to end (requirements, solution design, build, UAT, adoption) and coordinate with stakeholders and IT for compliance with enterprise data standards.
  • Continuous improvement & influence: Prioritize backlog by business impact and effort; communicate roadmap trade-offs.
  • Set standards for analytics practice (data integrity, documentation, versioning) and coach business analysts.

What You Bring

  • Builder’s mindset; deliver working solutions end to end (requirements, data model, pipeline, dashboard, adoption).
  • Comfort with ambiguity and imperfect data (raw extracts, spreadsheets, inconsistent definitions, shifting requirements).
  • Business acumen and financial literacy (ROI, forecasting, variance-to-plan, business-case logic) with experience partnering with finance or FP&A teams.
  • Comfort as a standalone technical IC in Finance, owning decisions end to end.
  • KPI and automation track record; experience replacing manual reporting with automated systems.
  • Executive presence communicating and presenting results to senior leadership.
  • Ownership, judgment, organization, and prioritization across concurrent workstreams.
  • Curiosity about AI and GenAI/agents for reporting.

Technical Skills

  • Expert SQL
  • Data modeling and design (dimensional and star-schema modeling; semantic model design)
  • BI and visualization (advanced Power BI and DAX; Tableau)
  • ETL/ELT and pipelines (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake)
  • Scripting for automation (Python)
  • Workflow automation (Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Analytics foundations (trend/variance analysis, metric calibration)
  • AI-enabled analytics (LLM/GenAI: automated narratives, conversational analytics, agent-ready semantic layers)

  • Experience programming ETL/ELT to extract, transform, and clean large datasets from multiple disparate sources including raw and manual data.
