Description

Act as a bridge between IT infrastructure and design engineering teams by providing hands-on expertise in hardware design and power electronics, while leveraging emerging AI technologies to accelerate engineering workflows. Translate complex hardware requirements into scalable IT solutions, automate circuit analysis and hardware development lifecycle activities, and support mixed-signal hardware development.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Interface: Serve as the primary technical liaison between GTO and design engineering teams; translate complex hardware requirements into scalable IT solutions.

  • Hardware Validation & Analysis: Use Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) and sensitivity analysis to evaluate performance margins for automotive and aerospace-grade hardware.

  • AI-Driven Acceleration: Identify and implement emerging AI tools to automate repetitive engineering tasks, such as electronic component modeling in PSpice or signal integrity data analysis.

  • PCB & System Design: Support mixed-signal hardware development (schematic design, component selection, multi-layer PCB layout) using tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence.

  • Bring-up & Testing: Perform board bring-up and validation for high-speed digital systems using programmable PNAs and high-bandwidth oscilloscopes.

  • Embedded Systems Implementation: Develop and tune embedded firmware (closed-loop control systems and power regulation) using C/C++ and Python/MicroPython.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Mastery of Cadence PSpice, Altium Designer, LTSpice, and KiCad
  • Strong foundations in Python, C/C++, and Matlab
  • Deep understanding of Power/Signal Integrity, FMEA, and communication protocols (SPI, UART, CAN)
  • Proven track record in fast-paced environments (startup or research labs) handling satellite communications, power converters, or high-speed digital systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams or professional organizations (e.g., IEEE or FSAE-Electric)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power Electronics (Buck, Boost, Flyback) and semiconductor device characterization
  • Familiarity with safety-critical systems like Brake System Plausibility Devices (BSPD)
  • Ability to conduct formal design reviews and peer evaluations
