These measured forces support calibration and correlation of CAE models and are used as input signals for component or system testing in laboratory settings. You will also perform strain and stress analyses on chassis systems and components to predict service life and provide durability recommendations to the design team.

Responsibilities

  • Sensor Design

    • Lead the sensor design process focused on strain gauge applications
    • Manage the workflow from sensor design inputs to participating in calibration of the final sensor
    • Define testing needs and load ranges; perform strength simulations
    • Design physical components and sensors, ensuring optimal strain gauge placement via stress/strain analysis
    • Plan and oversee sensor calibration to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Durability Analysis

    • Provide stress and strain CAE simulations to support the project design phase
    • Deliver recommendations to support programs or design concepts
    • Develop and establish durability requirements and targets through analysis

Requirements

  • Knowledge of wheel suspension design
  • Documented durability domain knowledge and a few years of experience in durability
  • Broad knowledge of the vehicle design process
  • Self-propelled, takes initiative, and has leadership skills
  • Experience writing requirements and technical guidelines
