Description

You will configure, deploy, and maintain containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift. You will manage OpenShift namespaces/projects, configure routing and exposure (Routes/Services/Ingress, TLS), implement and maintain application security (SCC, Pod Security, Network Policies, secret rotation), and handle scaling and performance optimization. You will support developer teams with pod troubleshooting, logs/events, restarts and rollbacks, and collaborate on requests for new application functionality and resources.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain OpenShift containerized applications (manifests, Helm, Templates, Operators)
• Manage application namespaces/projects (RBAC, quotas, limit ranges, resource management)
• Configure sharing and routing (Routes, Services, TLS, external access, load balancing)
• Implement and maintain application security (SCC, Pod Security, Network Policies, secret rotation)
• Scale and optimize applications (resource tuning, performance troubleshooting)
• Support developer teams (pod issues, logs, events, restarts, rollbacks)
• Cooperate on requests for new application functionality and resources
• Monitor application health and performance (alerts, dashboards, capacity planning)
• Prepare and update application documentation, SOP, and runbooks

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with applications on OpenShift (deployments, configuration, troubleshooting, scaling)
• Deployment and maintenance experience for containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift
• Very good knowledge of YAML, Helm charts, OpenShift Templates
• Knowledge of the OpenShift application model: Projects/Namespaces, Service Accounts, Secrets, ConfigMaps
• Practical knowledge of application security: Pod Security Admission/Standards, Security Context Constraints, Network Policies, image signing/scanning
• Experience with application exposure: Routes, Services, Ingress, ExternalName, TLS, API Gateway patterns
• Experience with scaling and optimization: HPA, VPA, requests/limits, probes
• Experience with monitoring and logging: OpenShift tools, Prometheus, Grafana, application metrics
• Knowledge of GitOps/ArgoCD and Helm (deploy changes from Git to specific namespaces/apps)
• Scripting and automation skills (Ansible, Python, Helm)
• Experience with CI/CD for OpenShift applications (Jenkins, ArgoCD, pipelines)
• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator certificate or equivalent, or an additional 3 years of OpenShift administration experience beyond the required minimum
