Senior Platform DevOps Engineer – Observability & Platform Integration

What awaits you

  • Further development and operation of the enterprise observability platform, including Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, Thanos, and related integrations.
  • Ownership of critical monitoring and telemetry capabilities, including migration concepts, telemetry onboarding, troubleshooting, and enterprise monitoring standards.
  • Implementation and support of platform integrations for Kubernetes, virtual machines, automation workflows, and cloud environments.
  • Development and operation of DevOps platform services such as CI/CD tooling, secrets management, artifact repositories, and deployment automation.
  • Contribution to AWS- and Azure-based platform services, GitOps practices, and multi-cluster OpenShift environments.
  • Support for platform engineering knowledge sharing and technical onboarding.

Your ideal background and skillset

  • Strong platform engineering and DevOps expertise.
  • Experience in several of the following areas is highly valuable:
    • Observability platforms: Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, Tempo, OTLP/OpenTelemetry, telemetry architecture, and monitoring concepts.
    • Container platforms: OpenShift, Azure DevOps, and Azure platform integrations.
    • Cloud and automation: AWS, Azure, Terraform, authentication, mTLS, and platform service integrations.
    • Software engineering: basic to intermediate knowledge of Python, Golang, and the Operator Framework.
  • Experience and strong preference for GitOps operating practices.
  • Solid understanding and experience with certificate use cases and their management, including mTLS, certificate monitoring, and OAuth re-encryption.

Nice to have

  • Experience administering and troubleshooting a Git platform such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab.
  • HashiCorp Vault, External Secrets, JFrog, Nexus, Jenkins, SonarQube, and related DevOps services.
  • KEDA, Argo CD, Sealed Secrets, and ingress.
  • Experience building cost-transparency and monitoring-dashboard solutions.
  • Knowledge transfer, coaching, and apprenticeship support.

Additional qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Several years of experience in platform engineering, system engineering, or DevOps within agile environments.
  • Interest in software and platform architecture.
  • Fluent English; German is advantageous.
