Your role

As a Backup Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving enterprise backup and recovery services built on Veeam and Dell PowerProtect Data Domain technologies. You will help ensure the availability, security, and recoverability of critical business data, lead recovery activities, drive service improvements, and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver resilient and reliable backup solutions.

Your tasks

  • Own and support enterprise backup and recovery services based on Veeam and Dell PowerProtect Data Domain.
  • Ensure reliable backup operations through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex incidents and recurring issues.
  • Lead backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities in line with recovery objectives, retention policies, and security requirements.
  • Optimize backup performance, resilience, automation, and operational processes to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and customer stakeholders on backup solutions and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance on backup and recovery services.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Create and support automation scripts that enhance backup service operations.

Your profile

  • Strong hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE, Veeam Recovery Orchestrator, and Veeam Enterprise Manager.
  • Experience working with Dell PowerProtect Data Domain in enterprise backup environments.
  • Experience protecting and recovering workloads hosted on VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup security, immutability, and retention practices.
  • Experience using ServiceNow in a service-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of integrating Veeam with the Zabbix monitoring platform.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or REST APIs, and an understanding of other enterprise backup solutions.
