Data Mapping Lead

Role Overview

Own source-to-target mapping and system compatibility analysis across the Pathway programme's migration into the Avaloq platform. The role goes beyond field-level mapping, requiring a thorough understanding of how source and target systems model, validate, and process data, including their rules, constraints, and structural differences. Surface conceptual mismatches during discovery so behavioural gaps become design decisions before testing rather than defects found in test.

Work at the interface between technical build and business decision-making: explain to business stakeholders what has been established, what is being done, and what developers need to build, while driving formal sign-off through show-and-tells under tight documentation discipline.

Main Responsibilities

• Own source-to-target mapping and system compatibility analysis, including full understanding of source and target data models, rules, and constraints.
• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models and associated mapping documentation.
• Define the ETL build sprint plan.
• Lead mapping meetings with business stakeholders to drive agreement and formal sign-off.
• Work closely with the Test Manager and other Migration sub-workstreams to identify root causes of migration defects.
• Use Jira and Confluence for tracking and documentation.

Key Requirements

• Experience owning source-to-target mapping.
• Strong understanding of data models across Banking, Credit, Insurance, and corporate business lines.
• Ability to create data models and mapping documentation.
• Experience leading stakeholder meetings to secure formal agreement.
• Proficiency using Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for migration defects.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Avaloq platform.
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and SQL.
• Understanding of object modelling and design documentation.
• Background in testing and environment management.

Other Details

This is a non-managerial role with an ASAP start date. The position will initially focus on the Banking and CI business as workstreams are completed. The day rate is £985.
