Senior Mainframe Automation Engineer

Project Information

Project Scope

• Lead migration projects from CA OPS/MVS to Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS and from CA Automation Point to Systems Automation for Integrated Operations Management (SAIOM).
• Configure and implement policy-based automation solutions within z/OS environments.
• Develop and maintain automation rules, REXX execs, and System Automation Policy Database (PDB) configurations.
• Provide installation, configuration, and technical support for automation products.
• Collaborate with operations teams to optimize system startup, shutdown, and recovery processes.
• Ensure high availability and operational efficiency through proactive automation strategies.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including configurations, migration procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues in production environments.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable automation solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a mainframe operations environment in operational, support, consultancy, or service roles.
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS.
• Strong experience with TSO and ISPF for system management and administration.
• Good knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language).
• Practical experience in REXX programming and script maintenance.
• Working knowledge of System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
• Proven experience delivering z/OS automation migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with NetView for z/OS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good English communication skills.
