Join an international project in the Pharma & Life Sciences sector focused on developing modern technology solutions that support biosample-data processes.

The Biosample Portal integrates data related to human biosamples from clinical and non-clinical trials, along with study, subject, and reference data. It provides FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) biosample data from clinical and non-clinical sources.

The platform supports Pharma Biosample Services through enriched, clean data and more efficient data flows. Its data is used for operational and analytical purposes, including sample-data flow, quality control, and data search. Extracted and transformed data is made available to scientists through the Biosample Portal, a visualization tool for searching biosamples across internal and external repositories.

Key responsibilities

• Work in a technologically advanced environment on solutions supporting healthcare-related processes.
• Design and implement new features and conduct technical spikes.
• Perform code reviews and ensure high-quality code.
• Provide support for critical production issues when needed.
• Support the team in software engineering, quality assurance, and validation.
• Cooperate with internal partners on product status and technology consulting.
• Interpret business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Prepare specifications and analyze functional and technical requirements.
• Design solutions and create technical documentation.
• Estimate individual work scopes and effort.
• Support architectural and technical decision-making.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced team members.

Qualifications and experience

• Previous software development experience in enterprise projects or products.
• Strong understanding of microservice architectures, principles, and patterns.
• Expert knowledge of Java and backend technologies.
• Knowledge of other JVM-based technologies.
• Good knowledge of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL, with hands-on Elasticsearch experience.
• Knowledge of Kotlin is nice to have.
• Good knowledge of testing frameworks and tools such as JUnit and Testcontainers, with practical TDD and BDD experience.
• Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud computing models.
• Experience with containers and a strong DevOps mindset.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Ability to deploy your own code to production is a plus.
• Experience developing software products using Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and deadline-management skills.
• Experience mentoring and supporting other developers.
• Fluent English.
