Join the Data team as a Senior Cloud Data Engineer and help shape how money is sent worldwide. The team owns the data platform end to end: ingestion, transformation, orchestration, the Redshift warehouse, and the standards and tooling, including AI-ready data, that enable business domains to build trusted, self-service data products.

This is a greenfield data function in a fintech environment moving toward AI-native capabilities. You will work with a modern AWS stack, dbt Core and Airflow, with ownership of the infrastructure you provision and direct influence on platform standards.

Description

As Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will:

  • Build and operate production data pipelines end to end, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration and monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain dbt models, tests and documentation.
  • Author, schedule and debug Airflow DAGs.
  • Provision and own AWS infrastructure as code using CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Support AI-ready data-agent and MCP/Redshift-access work.
  • Own data quality, observability and CI/CD with GitHub Actions for your pipelines.
  • Take stakeholder requirements through to resolution and fix issues when they occur.
  • Report to the Head of Data.

Requirements

  • 3+ years building and operating production data pipelines.
  • Production dbt experience, including models, tests, documentation and multiple environments.
  • Strong Python for production data engineering.
  • Advanced SQL and analytical data modelling.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with Redshift, S3, Lambda, IAM, Glue, Kinesis, ECS and ECR.
  • Production experience with an OLAP/MPP warehouse; Redshift is preferred.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform, including provisioning and owning infrastructure.
  • Airflow experience authoring, scheduling and debugging DAGs end to end.
  • CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions.
  • End-to-end ownership, from stakeholder requirement clarification through design, build, deployment and monitoring to incident resolution.
  • Ability to decompose ambiguous problems into deliverables independently.
  • Fluent English.
