Senior Java Backend Developer

The consultant will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Java-based applications that handle taxation, account management, and investment processing for pension and savings products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications supporting savings and investment products.
• Build and enhance calculation engines ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple countries.
• Develop solutions supporting complex business processes, tax authority integrations, and customer-facing reporting.
• Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with financial analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor developers and act as a code reviewer and design sparring partner.
• Promote practical engineering practices across the development team.
• Use AI-assisted development and automation responsibly to improve productivity, quality, and learning.
• Contribute strong collaboration and analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Java 21 and Java-based application development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related Java frameworks.
• Proven experience with relational databases and PostgreSQL SQL.
• Practical experience with messaging technologies such as JMS, MQ, or similar protocols.
• Strong proficiency in Java frameworks including Spring and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for producing and consuming data.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Very good command of English, both spoken and written.
