Application Developer, State Street Investment Management, Officer

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-scale applications used by Global Funds Management. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, technology partners, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, modern solutions in a global financial-services environment.

The role includes new software development and ongoing enhancement and maintenance of core applications. It follows a hybrid working model, requiring three days per week onsite at the Krakow office.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on software engineer, contributing to design, development, testing, and support activities
• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug complex software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and SQL
• Build and maintain data-driven applications using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Redshift databases
• Collaborate with geographically distributed, cross-functional technology and business teams
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for business-critical functions
• Ensure high-quality delivery through unit testing, automation testing, and manual test execution
• Contribute to DevOps practices, including automated CI/CD pipelines and environment setup across Development, QA, UAT, Production, and Disaster Recovery
• Explore and apply AI-assisted engineering tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the enterprise software development lifecycle
• Share knowledge, contribute to continuous improvement, and support a culture of accountability and engineering excellence

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred
• Minimum 2–3 years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications using Java and/or Python, Spring Boot, and microservices
• Experience designing and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases
• Strong object-oriented design expertise, including design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern engineering best practices

Considered an advantage

• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, such as GitHub Copilot

Compensation

Minimum salary: zł132,000 annually.

The minimum salary applies to the primary work location. If the candidate works outside this location, the applicable minimum salary may differ. Salary will be determined based on the position, work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, quantity and quality of work delivered, and other objective, non-discriminatory criteria. Employees may also be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
