Database Engineer (Oracle, French)

Your role

We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer with expertise in Oracle and proficiency in French to join an international team. This role will play a key part in managing database processes for a client in the French banking sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in optimizing database performance, ensuring high availability, and maintaining database systems.

Your task

• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Manage database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery processes.
• Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA.
• Optimize and tune database performance, including queries, indexes, and storage.
• Design and implement database schemas, tables, and procedures to support business applications.
• Install, configure, and maintain database systems, for example SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Develop and maintain database documentation.
• Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patches with minimal downtime.
• Manage database access and user permissions.
• The service operates between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Your profile

• 2+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle on IBM AIX and familiarity with MSQL, DB, DB2 on Linux and AIX, MySQL, MongoDB, and Postgres.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Hands-on experience with database monitoring and performance tools.
• Understanding of data security, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of database design principles and normalization.
• Experience with automation and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell is preferred.
• Availability to work in a shift-based system.
• Advanced proficiency in French and communicative English.
