Senior Backend Engineer – Subscription & Account

Senior • Remote

28,000 - 35,000 PLN/yr

Wroclaw, DS, Poland

The Accounts & Subscription teams own billing and authorization services, including subscriptions, usage-based pricing, payment-provider integrations, SSO, account management, and the OAuth implementation used for client authentication across products.

Current projects include integrating with Google Payments, building a flexible role and permissions system (ACAM), and migrating customers from the legacy platform to TextApp.

Quick Facts

  • Hybrid work model: remote when appropriate and onsite when needed
  • Once per quarter, the team spends 5 working days together at the Wrocław office for focused execution and unblocking work
  • Office access is available year-round
  • Contract: B2B (self-employed); a registered business in selected EU countries is required, either already established or possible to register

About the role

Join as the technical owner of SSO and account services. This role combines backend engineering with translating business requirements into technical solutions, aligning dependent teams, and delivering cross-functional projects. You will work closely with product managers and engineers across the organization, with autonomy to shape the evolution of critical services.

What you’ll do

  • Own the SSO service and OAuth implementation; lead technical decisions, propose improvements, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders
  • Work on billing services, including subscriptions, usage-based pricing, and payment-provider integrations
  • Drive projects end-to-end: turn business requirements into solutions, coordinate dependent teams, set milestones, and deliver
  • Proactively maintain services by identifying issues before incidents and proposing fixes before they become blockers
  • Contribute to customer migration to TextApp and ACAM role-management improvements

Who you are

  • Proactive in identifying problems, proposing fixes, and moving dependencies forward
  • Fluent in authentication at the protocol level, including OAuth flows, token types, and implementation risks
  • Comfortable presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders and coordinating with external teams
  • Pragmatic about balancing sound engineering decisions with delivery, with experience maintaining production systems and defending trade-offs
  • Uses AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar as part of regular work

You’re a great fit if you have

  • Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0 at the protocol level, including flows, token types, and authorization models
  • Experience implementing OAuth; experience consuming OAuth alone is not sufficient
  • Strong production Go experience; candidates with strong backend fundamentals and deep OAuth knowledge in another language must transition to Go
  • Solid MySQL experience
  • Familiarity with GCP and Kubernetes
  • A record of owning backend projects end-to-end, including design, cross-team coordination, and delivery

Nice to Have

  • Experience with billing, subscriptions, or payment systems
  • Experience with ClickHouse or similar columnar databases

Benefits

  • Hybrid work model
  • Unlimited paid days off and sick days policy
  • Outcome-focused environment rather than worked-hours focus
  • Multisport card
  • Private health care
  • Home-office equipment budget
  • Opportunity to work on products including LiveChat, ChatBot, HelpDesk, KnowledgeBase, and OpenWidget
