Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and applications.
• Build and deploy production-ready solutions with a strong focus on code quality, security, and maintainability.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineers, tech leads, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
• Develop automated tests and contribute to improving engineering standards and best practices.
• Support CI/CD processes and continuous delivery of software.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and support.

Requirements

Must Have

• 8+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software development.
• Strong experience building and maintaining complex backend systems in production environments.
• Excellent understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and code quality.
• Hands-on experience with at least one backend programming language such as Go or Java.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and testing methodologies.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a product-oriented environment.
• Very good spoken and written English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with data pipelines and tools such as dbt.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, or Next.js.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or other container orchestration platforms.
• Experience working in product-led organizations.
• Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders.
• Experience building internal platforms or business-critical systems.
