Project

We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a banking project. In this role, you will focus on ensuring data quality, validating data transformations, and testing complex integration processes across Master Data Management solutions. You will play a key role in designing and maintaining automated tests for data flows, backend services, APIs, and integration processes, helping drive an Automation First approach while ensuring high-quality, reliable data across systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated tests for data transformations, data distribution processes, integrations, and APIs
• Validate data quality and ensure consistency across multiple systems
• Perform database testing, including data verification and backend process validation
• Develop and maintain scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks
• Create and execute regression test suites integrated with CI/CD pipelines
• Analyze test results, investigate defects, and provide clear test evidence and reporting
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, Product Owners, and other teams
• Support automation initiatives for new and existing products
• Leverage AI tools, including GitHub Copilot, to improve test automation efficiency
• Mentor and support less experienced team members in test automation best practices

Expected competences and knowledge

• 6+ years of experience in test automation, preferably in complex enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+ for test automation development
• Practical experience with JUnit 5
• Strong SQL skills and solid experience in database testing, data validation, and backend data verification
• Experience testing data quality, data transformations, integration processes, and backend services
• Hands-on experience with REST and/or SOAP API testing
• Experience using RESTAssured for automated API testing
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test design, defect management, and regression testing
• Experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks following Clean Code principles
• Good knowledge of Git and collaborative development practices
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar tools
• Experience with Jira and test management tools

• Experience with Kafka-based integrations and event-driven architectures
