Description

We are looking for an experienced D365 BI Domain Lead to support BI and reporting across the D365 transformation program.

The assignment will own the BI demand perspective across Sales, Service, Order to Delivery, and Finance & Procurement, establishing the structure and way of working needed to move from business needs to a clear, prioritized, and solution-oriented BI backlog.

You will act as the main BI and reporting contact for the D365 work streams, working closely with business stakeholders, stream leads, architecture, and IT. A key part of the assignment is to proactively identify and structure BI needs, particularly in areas where BI maturity is still developing, and help stakeholders determine the most appropriate solution direction.

The role covers traditional reporting, self-service BI, and conversational analytics within the D365 landscape. The focus is on demand intake, requirements shaping, prioritization, initial solution direction, and backlog ownership rather than detailed technical design or hands-on implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the BI demand perspective across the D365 work streams covering Sales, Service, Order to Delivery, and Finance & Procurement.
  • Establish a consistent way of working for identifying, understanding, shaping, and prioritizing BI and reporting needs.
  • Act as the main BI contact for D365 stream leads and relevant business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate structured discussions and workshops to identify current, emerging, and overlooked BI/reporting needs.
  • Translate business needs into clear and structured BI requirements suitable for assessment and prioritization.
  • Own and maintain the consolidated D365 BI backlog, including priorities and initial solution direction.
  • Assess and recommend where and how BI needs should be addressed across D365, Microsoft analytics, or other relevant solutions.
  • Collaborate with Domain Leads, Product Owners, architects, and central IT experts to validate solution directions and dependencies.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and guide stakeholders toward appropriate BI and reporting solutions.
  • Prepare prioritized requirements for handover to detailed design and implementation.
  • Establish the structure, documentation, and ways of working required for transition to the permanent Domain Lead organization.

Education & Technical Skills

  • M.Sc. or equivalent relevant academic background.
  • Strong experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
  • Broad understanding of different BI, reporting, and analytics approaches and use cases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, preferably within a major transformation or implementation program.
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft data and analytics ecosystem, including Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Good understanding of enterprise IT and solution landscapes.
  • Ability to understand and credibly navigate technical alternatives without being a hands-on developer.
  • Ability to translate business needs into structured BI requirements and practical solution recommendations.

Experience & Skills

  • Experienced BI/analytics professional with strong business-facing consulting skills.
  • Experience working with BI demand management, requirements, prioritization, and backlog development.
  • D365 experience in a transformation context is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working across business processes, architecture, and IT stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to lead workshops and structured discussions with stakeholders at different levels of BI maturity.
  • Ability to create structure in complex environments and work effectively with ambiguity.
  • Ability to challenge requirements and assumptions constructively.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and pragmatic approach with the ability to independently drive the assignment forward.

Who You Are

You are an experienced and business-oriented BI professional who combines a strong understanding of analytics with excellent stakeholder and consulting skills.

You are comfortable taking ownership of the BI demand perspective and creating structure across multiple business areas and work streams. You can facilitate discussions, ask the right questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements.

You understand technical alternatives well enough to guide stakeholders and recommend appropriate solution directions without needing to be a hands-on developer. You are structured, proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable working across business processes, architecture, and IT in a complex transformation environment.
