Senior Product Manager, Studio Team

Senior • Remote

160,000 - 180,000 USD/yr

New York, NY

The Position

GameChanger is launching a Studio team, a small, fast-moving group focused on determining whether emerging business opportunities are worth pursuing. Partnering with the Strategy team, the Studio rapidly validates ideas—such as expanding into a new sport or entering an international market—with real customers.

As the founding Product Manager, you will partner with a designer to run focused validation sprints. Your output will be confidence: a clear, evidence-backed recommendation on whether an opportunity warrants deeper investment and handoff to a product team, or whether to move on. You will operate with a founder mindset, drawing on partners from User Research, Strategy, Data & Analytics, Product, Engineering, and beyond as needed, and report directly to the SVP of Product.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the Strategy team to turn emerging business ideas into clear, testable hypotheses.
  • Define the riskiest assumptions, validation criteria, and evidence that would change the decision before work begins.
  • Run the Studio's validation cadence with a design partner; tightly scope sprints, choose the fastest credible path to answers, and maintain momentum.
  • Size opportunities, model potential business cases, analyze competitive and market dynamics, and test commercial viability.
  • Gather customer evidence from coaches, players, families, and prospective customers through surveys, interviews, onsite ethnographic research, demand tests, and in-market prototypes.
  • Synthesize customer evidence and business analysis into clear go/no-go recommendations for leadership, including recommendations not to pursue an idea.
  • Package validated opportunities for smooth handoff to a product team.
  • Help define the Studio playbook, sprint cadence, decision framework, and standards for sufficient confidence.
  • Use AI tools extensively for research synthesis, analysis, and prototyping support.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience managing technology products, focused on mobile or consumer products; 0-to-1 experience in early-stage startups, new-product incubation, or company founding is ideal.
  • Strategic and business-minded, with the ability to size markets, build lightweight business cases, and speak with customers.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to independently find the fastest path to an answer.
  • Comfortable with high autonomy and ambiguity; proactive in bringing in collaborators.
  • Experienced in data-informed decision-making and able to conduct analysis to size opportunities and interpret experiment results.
  • Skilled in customer discovery, including planning, recruiting for, and conducting interviews and lightweight research without a dedicated research team.
  • Strong at communicating ambiguous findings, recommendations, and tradeoffs to executives and building influence across the organization.
  • Intellectually honest and comfortable recommending that an idea be discontinued.
  • Fluent with, or eager to master, AI tools for research, analysis, and rapid prototyping.
  • Knowledgeable about, or eager to learn, sports and the communities around them.

Bonus Points

  • Founded or worked at an early-stage startup, or on an incubation, venture, or new-bets team.
  • Experience evaluating international expansion or entirely new market opportunities.
  • Background in strategy, consulting, or corporate development with market-analysis and business-modeling experience.

Perks

  • Work remotely throughout eligible US states or from a modern office in Manhattan, New York.
  • Unlimited vacation policy.
  • Paid volunteer opportunities.
  • $4,000 technology stipend every two years after starting.
  • $500 annual work-from-home stipend.
  • Monthly physical, mental, wellness, and learning stipend through Holisticly.
  • Monthly lifestyle stipend through Fringe.
  • Full health benefits: medical, dental, vision, prescription, FSA, HRA, HSA, and family/dependent coverage.
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) plans through Vanguard with an immediate company match.
  • Basic, supplemental, and dependent life insurance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Paid parental leave of up to 20 weeks for birthing parents and up to 12 weeks for non-birthing parents.
  • Family-building benefits through Progyny.
  • DICK'S Sporting Goods family-of-brands teammate discount.

Compensation

The target salary range is $160,000–$180,000. The total compensation package includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary based on experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.

Hiring Eligibility

The role cannot be filled in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, or South Carolina.
