Description
The role focuses on functional testing and quality assurance of the solutions, including preparation, execution, documentation, and reporting of test activities. The Senior Test Specialist will work hands-on with black-box and white-box testing, ensuring that business requirements, integrations, and technical functionality are properly validated before release.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute test activities across the CPQ Hub & GCH project, ensuring both solutions are sufficiently tested before release.
- Create and maintain detailed test cases covering business requirements, functional flows, integrations, and technical scenarios.
- Plan and prepare test runs in Azure DevOps and ensure proper traceability between requirements, test cases, execution results, and defects.
- Perform hands-on functional testing using black-box and white-box testing techniques.
- Execute and document functional, integration, regression, UI, platform, and performance testing.
- Validate integrations and APIs using tools such as Postman.
- Identify, document, and manage defects throughout the complete defect lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues, verify fixes, and ensure defects are properly resolved.
- Prepare test reports providing clear visibility into executed tests, test coverage, open defects, resolved defects, and overall quality status.
- Provide regular test status updates, risks, and quality insights to the Project Manager for reporting to the Steering Committee and stakeholders.
- Work closely with Product Owners to ensure business requirements are properly covered and tested.
- Identify potential gaps in requirements, functionality, integrations, and test coverage.
- Ensure testing documentation is maintained and available throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes and ways of working within the CPQ Hub & GCH teams.
- Contribute to stable, high-quality releases by identifying issues early and ensuring appropriate test coverage.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Test Specialist, QA Specialist, or in a similar role, with strong hands-on software-testing experience.
- Strong functional-testing experience, including black-box and white-box approaches.
- Ability to independently design, document, maintain, and execute high-quality test cases.
- Strong Azure DevOps experience, including test-case management, test planning, test execution, defect management, and reporting.
- Experience preparing structured test runs and test reports covering test coverage, execution results, defects, and quality status.
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, UI, platform, and performance testing.
- Defect-management experience, including documenting, prioritizing, following up, and validating fixes.
- Experience testing solutions with multiple integrated components and dependencies.
- API-testing experience, preferably with Postman, including validation of APIs, integrations, and data flows.
- Understanding of agile ways of working and experience collaborating with Product Owners, Project Managers, developers, and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to identify gaps, risks, and areas requiring additional test coverage.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and contribute effectively in a high-paced delivery environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate test results and quality status to technical and business stakeholders.
Automated testing experience is an advantage but is not mandatory.
