About the project

Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end test strategies for new projects, covering automation, manual, functional, non-functional, and all testing levels.
- Select suitable automation tools, create proof of concepts (PoCs), and present the advantages and disadvantages of different solutions.
- Set up test automation frameworks, implement testing processes, develop automated tests, lead QA activities, and prepare test estimations.
- Conduct QA reviews for existing projects by analyzing testing processes, automation frameworks, and overall QA maturity; prepare reports, present findings, and recommend improvements.
- Work across multiple projects, with typical engagements lasting 2–6 months; support several initiatives simultaneously rather than being dedicated full-time to one project.
- Use time between project assignments for value-adding internal initiatives, including mentoring QA engineers, researching technologies and QA solutions, creating PoCs, and sharing findings.
- Collaborate with QA Engineers and Architects across teams in the Netherlands, Switzerland, and India.
- Identify and drive initiatives to improve QA practices across the organization and support QA engineers on customer projects.
- Contribute QA expertise to presales, including estimations, customer meetings, and analysis of customer quality-assurance needs and challenges.
- Use AI-powered engineering assistants, including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor, to improve productivity, software quality, and decision-making throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of QA experience, including 3+ years in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience building frontend test automation frameworks from scratch, such as Playwright or Selenium.
- Hands-on experience building backend test automation frameworks from scratch, such as RestSharp.
- Experience designing and configuring CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab.
- Familiarity with consumer-driven contract testing and tools such as Pact.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS and Azure.
- Solid Git knowledge, including defining and recommending an effective branching strategy.
- Proficiency in C#, with willingness to learn TypeScript, Python, or Java.
- Experience creating PoCs for test frameworks and automation solutions, evaluating approaches, and presenting recommendations to customers.
- Ability to design project test strategies and customer test policies.
- Experience conducting QA project reviews, driving process improvements, and preparing end-to-end testing estimates.
- Experience mentoring and supporting QA team members.
- Good understanding of software architecture patterns and their impact on testing strategies.
- Experience designing and executing testing activities in Agile environments.
- Comfort working in an AI-native engineering environment using Specification-Driven Development frameworks, such as OpenSpec, for requirements, implementation plans, validation, and traceability.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher; German is a strong advantage.
