We're backed by top-tier investors including a16z, Khosla, Activant, 1984 Ventures and Page One.The RoleWe're hiring our first dedicated recruiter. This is not a role where you inherit a playbook—you'll write it. Our mission is to help entrepreneurs focus on what matters in their business and life, and to help their accountants become more strategic. We've raised $20M from a group of top-tier investors and have grown ARR 60% month-on-month since our public launch. We now serve thousands of businesses and are expanding our product to serve accountants directly — creating a two-sided platform where both business owners and their accountants use and recommend us. We're at an early but proven stage, moving fast, and building a world-class engineering team in Wrocław to match our ambition. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Senior or Staff Backend Engineer to own and evolve our backend services as we scale. This is a broad, high-impact role — you'll architect new features, build the systems that underpin our core product, and set the engineering standards that shape how the whole team works. The focus is on building a modern, AI-native developer experience. That means working closely with Product, AI, and Operations teams to design agentic systems, distributed data pipelines, and scalable incident response infrastructure — and doing it in a way that lets the team ship with confidence multiple times a day. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON Architecture and feature design Partner with Product, AI, and Operations teams to architect new features and complex agentic systems. Make clear architectural trade-offs that balance platform, product, and business goals. Backend services and APIs Build and maintain the backend services and APIs that power the core product. Ensure systems are secure, well-tested, and high performance. Distributed systems Design and implement distributed services to orchestrate data pipelines, automate investigations, and enable incident response at scale. Operational excellence Own operational best practices so the team can ship multiple times a day with confidence. Healthy on-call culture and strong observability are part of what you'll build and maintain. Engineering standards Set the bar for writing, communication, and system design across the team. Your influence will shape how a modern AI-native product is built. WHAT WE LOOK FOR 5–10+ years of backend engineering experience A strong track record designing, building, and operating production backend systems at scale. Deep backend fundamentals Expertise in API design, data modelling, and reasoning about distributed systems trade-offs. You understand the nuances, not just the patterns. AWS or GCP hands-on experience Solid understanding of how infrastructure decisions impact application reliability and performance. You've run things in production, not just designed them. CI/CD in practice Practical experience with testing and deployment strategies in high-frequency shipping environments. Observability and on-call maturity A solid grasp of what good observability looks like and how to build healthy on-call practices that don't burn people out. Bonus Experience at an early-stage or scaling startup. Exposure to modern AI and ML systems. Experience shipping product without a dedicated product manager. TECH STACK TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS, Terraform, PostgreSQL, OpenAI, Azure AI. The team uses GitHub, Slack, Linear, Figma, and Notion day to day. THE TEAM Small, senior, and in-person. The office is in central Wrocław, next to the main train station. The expectation is 4–5 days a week in the office — this is a deliberate choice, not a compromise. Relocation support is available for the right candidate. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary $130,000 – $190,000 USD depending on experience, plus competitive equity. Wellness and commute stipend $100 per month. Hardware Premium hardware provided — MacBook Pro and AirPods. Food Daily in-office lunch and dinner. Time off 20 PTO days plus 9 US public holidays. Relocation Support available for candidates relocating to Wrocław.

🏢 Summary: Lead UI/UX Designer role owning end-to-end product design, visual language, and design system for a learning and research product. You will turn ambiguous problems into clear UX flows and high-fidelity UI, collaborating closely with engineering to ship polished experiences. The role combines product design, brand identity, and rapid user validation with full ownership of quality and craft. 🗂️ Requirements: Proven experience in end-to-end UI/UX design for digital products, Ability to create UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI, Experience defining and scaling design systems with components and variants, Proficiency in Figma for auto-layout, prototyping, and system management, Experience collaborating closely with engineering for production handoff, Ability to conduct lightweight user research and rapid validation, Strong understanding of HCI principles and interaction design, Ability to define and maintain cohesive brand identity across product surfaces 📃 Skills: Figma, UX, UI, Prototyping, Wireframing, DesignSystems, Typography, Illustration, Branding, HCI, InteractionDesign, AutoLayout, UserResearch 🏢 Description: ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an expert UI/UX designer with outstanding taste and a bias for shipping to lead every visual and brand aspect of our product — from the core design system down to the last pixel. This is not a "pure artist" role. You'll work in a tight product team, iterate fast, and make hard trade-offs when reality demands it. You'll own the visual language of a product used by people who care deeply about learning and research. The expectation is high — you define what good looks like, and you hold that bar as the product grows. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON Core product journeys Own end-to-end design for the most important product experiences — search and discovery, reading, notes, and collaboration. Turn ambiguous problems into clear UX flows, prototypes, and shippable UI. Design system Define and evolve the design system — components, variants, states — so the team can move fast without quality regressions as features multiply. Craft and details Raise the bar on hierarchy, interaction, motion, and micro-details so the product feels inevitable rather than assembled. Engineering collaboration Work in a tight shipping loop with engineering to land high-fidelity designs in production exactly as intended. User research Run lightweight user research and rapid validation when it meaningfully reduces risk — not as a process, but as a tool. Brand coherence Keep brand and marketing surfaces coherent with the product — visual language, typography, and key visuals. WHAT WE LOOK FOR Elite communication You set expectations accurately and live up to them. No surprises on timelines, scope, or quality. Deep resilience Feedback cycles, tight deadlines, tough discussions — you have a large buffer before stress impacts your output. No ego Your work gets better through collaboration. We're here to build something great, not to manage insecurities. Product mastery You understand what makes great software feel inevitable — clarity, hierarchy, consistency, motion, copy, and details. You've studied the best and can articulate why it works. Brand instinct You can define a visual identity that feels premium, coherent, and distinctly ours — and keep it consistent as the product scales. HCI fascination Deeply interested in human-computer interaction. Actively exploring AI-native interfaces and new interaction primitives that feel intuitive, not bolted on. Bonus Ex-founder experience. DESIGN STACK Figma for components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping, and design systems. Brand identity, guidelines, typography, colour, and illustration. Close collaboration with engineering for production handoff. Lightweight user research and validation. The stack isn't fixed — outcomes matter more than tools. DESIGN CULTURE Radical ownership You own the visual language and the bar. You decide what good looks like — and you're accountable for it. Ruthless simplicity We delete, simplify, and reduce. Every element must earn its place. Fast iteration Polished does not mean slow. We prototype, test, and refine quickly. Direct feedback Feedback is blunt, concise, and respectful. No politics. RECRUITMENT PROCESS Recruiter screening — a short intro call. 1-on-1 with the founder — a conversation about how you think and design. Design challenge (~2 hours) — onboard to the product, review what's working and what isn't, record a Loom and send it over. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience. Equity and profit share Core team members receive both equity and profit share as part of the compensation package. Unlimited PTO Use your own judgement — we won't count days. Real ownership No managers capping your authority. You own your work end-to-end, with the full trust of the team behind you.
