Job Summary
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing new products, including cameras and robotic sensors, from the ground up. The role involves creating innovative solutions for a wide variety of embedded projects using C, C++, and Python in an embedded Linux environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work on embedded platform software in a Linux-based environment
- Write event-driven and asynchronous applications primarily in C, C++ and Python
- Develop software that communicates with and controls devices over CAN, UART, I2C, SPI and similar interfaces
- Use oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools for electronic debugging
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Raspberry Pi and Arduino experience preferred
- Strong documentation skills preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred
- 1–3 years of hands-on embedded engineering experience preferred; new graduates familiar with embedded systems are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of software product lifecycle
- Experience using Linux
- Experience with C, C++ and/or Python
- Knowledge of revision control and code review tools such as Git
- Experience manipulating GPIO preferred
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets with hands-on hardware debugging experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation
This is a salaried, exempt position with compensation based on experience and abilities. The role includes eligibility for yearly bonus and retirement savings programs.
