About the role

Join us as a Software Development Engineer on Remitly's Regional Growth team. The mission of the team is to expand and accelerate Remitly’s global growth by unlocking new markets and strengthening performance in existing ones.

As part of the Europe & APAC Growth organization, you will work on scaling fast, reliable, and compliant money-movement experiences that customers can trust every time.

You will tackle technical challenges such as enabling new markets, integrating with regional identity verification services and local payment systems, improving user experience, and supporting growth in existing countries.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement large-scale web and mobile architectures
  • Write integrations with local payment systems and identity verification services
  • Collaborate across engineering, marketing, and product teams to deliver scalable and user-friendly solutions
  • Optimize page speed, core web vitals, and performance metrics across mobile and desktop platforms
  • Build and evolve fraud prevention systems to ensure safe and trusted money transfers at scale
  • Own customer-facing features with direct business impact
  • Participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Experience building and optimizing large-scale web architectures
  • Strong knowledge of backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Golang, or similar
  • Good understanding of React or Next.js
  • Experience navigating the SDLC across multiple services
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges

Nice to have

  • Commercial experience with React Native and native app development
  • Experience in high-scale corporate web and mobile environments

Compensation Details

  • Base salary range: zł 245,000 – zł 275,000 per annum
