Olsson's South Facility Engineering and Design Team is shaping the future of infrastructure across commercial, healthcare, education, and military environments. The Vertical Telecom team designs the communication systems that power world-class facilities.

We are seeking a Group Leader to lead with vision, mentor with purpose, and drive technical excellence. This role offers the opportunity to shape a growing team, influence high-impact projects, and build lasting client relationships. The Information and Communication Technology Team provides design services for telecom, security, audio/visual, and fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Vertical Telecom group and set performance goals aligned with team and firmwide objectives
  • Contribute to team growth strategy and supervise staff across multiple offices and states
  • Oversee project delivery from kickoff to closeout, ensuring schedules, budgets, and technical execution meet high standards
  • Build and maintain client relationships through proactive communication and strategic insight
  • Support strategic growth of the telecom practice through business development, client strategy, and proposal leadership
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development to team members
  • Monitor team performance, utilization, and staffing needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, landscape architecture, or related field preferred; associate degree with equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in telecom, low-voltage systems, or related discipline
  • At least 4 years of experience supervising technical personnel with proven mentorship and leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of telecom design practices, building codes, and project delivery methods
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or RCDD certification preferred
