Senior Civil Designer (Grading & Utility) - Data Center

Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for large hyperscale data center campuses and colocation data centers throughout the U.S. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex engineering-driven projects being built today, contributing to the design of critical infrastructure that supports technological and connected communities.

As a Senior Civil Designer with a grading & utility focus, you will work in a collaborative team environment on multi-disciplinary complex projects. You will work closely with licensed engineers on plans and calculations, utilizing your expertise in Civil 3D and CAD software. In addition to sheet production work, you will independently design utilities and surfaces with oversight from an Engineer. You will apply advanced skills in Civil 3D and CAD software to create accurate and efficient design solutions, developing detailed drawings and models to effectively communicate design intent. The role frequently involves designing with Pipe Networks, Pressure Pipe Networks, and Surfaces containing Corridors and Feature Lines. Project scales typically start at approximately 20 acres and often exceed 200 acres for a single campus.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team
• Associate's degree in drafting or related field preferred
• 8 or more years of expertise in drafting and design
• Experience in surface creation, analysis, utility design, and BIM coordination
• Proficiency in Civil 3D software
