Kyper - Fully remote, B2B

Kyper is the agentic downtime partner for heavy industry. Mining and oil & gas operators lose millions every hour to unplanned downtime - our platform stops it. We read from customer historians, SCADA, CMMS, and OEM systems, run continuous anomaly detection on top, and draft results back into the workflows the customer already uses. That platform runs across multiple customer environments. We need someone who owns it.

Don't apply if

  • Your production experience is mostly dev or staging clusters.

  • You prefer to wait for tickets rather than push improvements unprompted.

  • You are loyal to one cloud and dismissive of the others.

  • You have never been on-call or owned a production incident end-to-end.

  • Your AI tooling stops at chat interfaces and basic IDE autocomplete.

  • You need a fixed 9-to-5. Customers span Japan to Alaska, so we trade strict hours for flexibility on both ends.

  • You expect a senior infra team above you to make the hard calls. We are small - this role is the senior infra perspective.

The role

You are cloud-agnostic by reflex. You stand up environments, you keep them healthy, you make them cheap, and you make them reproducible. You think in Terraform and Kubernetes, but you do not religious-war the cloud. You pick the right tool for the customer and the workload, then ship it.

Networking and security are core to this job, not afterthoughts. Our customers run heavy-industry infrastructure with strict OT/IT boundaries, isolated networks, on-prem historians, and varied appetite for cloud. You will walk into a customer's environment, understand their reality, and propose how their data gets from their servers to ours - securely, reliably, and in a way their IT and compliance teams will actually approve. You will defend that architecture in front of customer engineers who know their network better than you ever will.

You will be the person who decides how Kyper's platform is run. That is a lot of leverage and a lot of responsibility.

What you'll do

  • Stand up production-grade environments across GCP, AWS, and Azure for new customer deployments.

  • Own infrastructure as code: Terraform modules, Kubernetes manifests, CI/CD, secrets, networking, security posture.

  • Design and propose customer data ingestion architectures: on-prem to cloud connectivity, secure transport, identity, firewalling, network segmentation. You sit in customer calls and you draw the diagram their IT will sign off on.

  • Build the deployment workflows that let ML and product engineers ship without waiting on you.

  • Monitor, observe, and harden: logs, metrics, alerts, cost controls, security baselines, incident response.

  • Push toward cloud-agnostic patterns where they pay back, and pragmatic single-cloud choices where they don't.

You bring

  • 5+ years of commercial cloud / DevOps / SRE / platform engineering experience in environments with real customers and real consequences.

  • Deep Terraform, deep Kubernetes, fluent in at least two of GCP / AWS / Azure.

  • Strong networking and security: VPCs, peering, VPN, private interconnect (Interconnect / Direct Connect / ExpressRoute), IAM at scale, secrets management, zero-trust patterns. This is non-negotiable for the role.

  • Real on-prem to cloud integration experience. You have shipped data from a customer's datacenter into a cloud platform and you can defend the trade-offs of every option (site-to-site VPN, dedicated interconnect, message queue bridge, agent + push, secure file drop).

  • Comfort sitting in front of a customer's IT, OT, and security teams and proposing a data-shipping architecture they will actually approve.

  • Experience running production workloads under load, not just dev clusters.

  • Strong scripting (Python or Go), CI/CD-first mindset, bias toward simple and observable systems.

Bonus

  • ML / data platform experience: Vertex AI, SageMaker, MLflow, Ray, Spark on Kubernetes.

  • Industrial / OT exposure: PLCs, SCADA, historians, OPC UA, MQTT, ISA-95, Purdue model.

  • Compliance experience: SOC 2, ISO 27001, or sector-specific (NERC CIP, IEC 62443).

  • FinOps mindset and proven cost reductions you can point to.

You will fit Kyper if you

  • Are productive with AI code agents and modern AI-assisted development workflows. If you have never built a Claude Code skill or subagent, set up an MCP server, run a personal knowledge system like Obsidian, or chained AI tools into a real workflow, your AI usage is probably too basic for what we need.

  • Move fast, learn fast, and adapt quickly.

  • Can take ideas and POCs all the way to production. This is a must-have skill.

  • Are willing to dive into whatever challenges are needed to get things done.

How we work

You will own the platform layer end-to-end. No dedicated SRE team behind you, no waiting on a central infra group. The autonomy is real, and the impact is direct.

Our customers are world-class at heavy industry, not at cloud or modern software. Their IT and OT environments reflect that history - varied, sometimes legacy, sometimes locked down, sometimes wide open in surprising places. The information you need about their networks, constraints, and quirks will not arrive neatly documented. You will have to dig it out.

Fully remote on a B2B contract. Quarterly team co-locations in Warsaw. Customers span Japan to Alaska, and production doesn't watch the clock - the occasional out-of-hours call or incident comes with the role. The trade is real flexibility on the rest of your time.

The position involves developing React/TypeScript frontends and NestJS/Python backends, integrating data pipelines, and owning performance and reliability in production. The role requires fast iteration, direct customer impact, and strong AI-assisted development practices. 🗂️ Requirements: 4+ years commercial fullstack experience with production users, Strong TypeScript and React expertise, Solid NestJS and Python FastAPI experience, Experience with data-heavy applications and data pipelines, Experience integrating ML outputs into product workflows, Ability to build and ship end-to-end features, Experience setting up monitoring, logs, and alerts, Understanding of data engineering and ML pipelines, Proficiency with AI-assisted development workflows 📃 Skills: TypeScript, React, NestJS, Python, FastAPI, SQL, ETL, Streaming, TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, InfluxDB, GCP, AWS, Azure, IaC, Monitoring, Logging 🏢 Description: Kyper - Fully remote, B2B Kyper is the agentic downtime partner for heavy industry. Mining and oil & gas operators lose millions every hour to unplanned downtime. Our product surfaces ML signals, time-series data, and assembled context to four very different users - technicians on the plant floor, reliability engineers, ops managers, and VPs. None of them have time for clunky software. We need a fullstack engineer who builds that product end-to-end. Don't apply if You only do frontend, or only do backend, and want to keep it that way. You'd rather stay away from databases, pipelines, or anything that smells like data engineering. You have not shipped to production with real users. You have never set up monitoring, logs, or alerts for code you wrote. If you ship it, you watch it. You prefer detailed designs and tickets before you start moving. Your AI tooling stops at chat interfaces and basic IDE autocomplete. You need a fixed 9-to-5. Customers span Japan to Alaska, so we trade strict hours for flexibility on both ends. You want long planning cycles before you write code. We move faster than that. The role You are comfortable with data-heavy applications. You understand how data pipelines and ML systems feed the product, and you can build the layers on top: APIs, services, UI, and the glue between them. You are not afraid of the database, not afraid of the frontend, and you know where the bottlenecks usually hide. What you'll do Build customer-facing features end-to-end: React / TypeScript frontend, NestJS and Python (FastAPI) services on the backend. Wire the product into ML and data pipelines so model outputs become usable workflows. Own performance and reliability for data-intensive views: aggregations, time-series, large object sets. Make pragmatic architectural calls. Refactor when it pays back, leave it alone when it doesn't. Work directly with ML, product, and customers to ship features that actually move metrics. You bring 4+ years of commercial fullstack experience shipping production software with real users. Strong TypeScript / React on the frontend. Solid NestJS and Python (FastAPI) on the backend. We use both, you should be willing to work across them. Proven experience with data-heavy applications: pipelines, ETL, streaming, analytical queries, or ML output integration. Working understanding of how data engineering and machine learning pipelines feed product surfaces. You do not need to be the ML or data engineer, but you do need to speak the language. Bonus Time-series stores (TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, InfluxDB) or columnar warehouses. Industrial / IoT data, operational dashboards, or alerting interfaces. Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and basic IaC. You will fit Kyper if you Are productive with AI code agents and modern AI-assisted development workflows. How we work You will ship product that industrial operators use every day, in real plants and mines. Short feedback loops, direct customer contact, and no layers between you and the work. We optimize for shipping and learning. Our customers are world-class at heavy industry. They know their plants, their failure modes, and their operations cold. They are typically not deep on data, software, or computer science. That means the spec you need will not arrive on a silver platter. You will have to read between the lines, ask the right questions, and translate operational reality into product. Fully remote on a B2B contract. Quarterly team co-locations in Warsaw. 🏢 Summary: Platform Engineer role responsible for owning and scaling a self-hosted production stack running on Docker Compose. The position focuses on production operations, automation, CI/CD implementation, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud integration. You will design and execute the scaling roadmap while ensuring reliability, security, and reproducibility of the system. 🗂️ Requirements: 5+ years Linux sysadmin/DevOps/SRE/Platform experience, Strong Docker and Docker Compose expertise, Networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, HTTP, reverse proxies, load balancers), Bash and Python scripting, CI/CD pipeline design and implementation, Production operations and on-call experience, Experience with AWS or GCP or Azure, Git proficiency, Experience with AI coding assistants in operations, Written technical documentation skills 📃 Skills: Linux, Docker, DockerCompose, Bash, Python, Git, MariaDB, Lighttpd, IPFS, CI/CD, GitHubActions, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Sentry, AWS, GCP, Azure, DNS, TLS, HTTP, HAProxy, NGINX, Caddy, S3, GCS, MinIO 🏢 Description: 🌍 Hello World! We are The Codest -  International Tech Software Company with tech hubs in Poland delivering global IT solutions and projects. Our core values lie in “Customers and People First” approach that prioritises the needs of our customers and a collaborative environment for our employees, enabling us to deliver exceptional products and services. Our expertise centers on web development, cloud engineering, DevOps and quality. After many years of developing our own product - Yieldbird, which was honored as a laureate of the prestigious Top25 Deloitte awards, we arrived at our mission: to help tech companies build impactful product and scale their IT teams through boosting IT delivery performance. Through our extensive experience with product development challenges, we have become experts in building digital products and scaling IT teams. But our journey does not end here - we want to continue our growth. If you’re goal-driven and looking for new opportunities, join our team! What awaits you is an enriching and collaborative environment that fosters your growth at every step. 📈 The role: We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer (full-time or part-time). Own the production system end-to-end. Today the entire stack runs self-hosted on Docker Compose: a custom-built lighttpd with database-driven virtual hosts, MariaDB, a Kubo IPFS node, Dozzle for logs, and Uptime Kuma for monitoring. There is no CI/CD pipeline, no infrastructure-as-code, no application performance monitoring, and the scaling story is vertical for now. Your job is to keep the lights on, automate the manual work, design how this system scales, and make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions on cloud services (load balancing, object storage, managed databases) as we grow. 📈 Your Responsibilities : Operate the production system: deploys, rollbacks, capacity, incident response. Design and execute the scaling roadmap — horizontal scaling, load balancing, caching layers, object-storage offload, database replication, IPFS-node fan-out. Evaluate and integrate cloud building blocks (managed databases, object storage, CDN, load balancers) where they earn their cost. Stand up CI/CD pipelines (greenfield — likely GitHub Actions) covering test, build, image push, and deploy across all services. Establish observability: metrics, logs, error tracking, SLOs, and meaningful alerts. Manage TLS / ACME automation, DNS, and secrets handling — replace today's hardcoded credentials with a proper secret-management story. Introduce infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or comparable) so the production system is reproducible. Use AI coding assistants to author IaC modules, runbooks, and incident-response playbooks. 🔑 Tech Stack You'll Work With or Introduce: Docker, Docker Compose, image building. Linux (Debian-style), Bash, Python for scripting. Lighttpd today (niche, with DB-driven vhost logic you'll learn) - likely to be reconsidered as we scale. MariaDB - including replication, backup/restore drills, performance tuning. Kubo IPFS node, private-swarm operation, gateway scaling. Let's Encrypt / ACME / Certbot. Load-balancing layer (to be chosen - HAProxy, Caddy, NGINX, ALB/NLB, etc.). Object storage (to be chosen - S3, GCS, R2, MinIO; mainly for non-IPFS payloads and backups). CI/CD (likely GitHub Actions, to be confirmed). Observability stack (likely Prometheus + Grafana + Loki + Sentry - to be introduced). IaC: Terraform or Ansible (to be introduced). One of AWS / GCP / Azure as the long-term cloud target - tbd Hard Skills - Must-Have: 5+ years professional Linux sysadmin / DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering. Docker fluency: writing, debugging, and optimizing Dockerfiles and multi-service compose stacks. Networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, HTTP semantics, reverse proxies, load balancers. Scripting: Bash plus at least one of Python (or similar like Go/Ruby). Hands-on CI/CD pipeline design with any modern system. Production operations experience - you have been on-call, you have written postmortems, you have designed a capacity plan. Familiarity with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including its load-balancing, object-storage, and managed-database primitives. Git fluency. Experience using AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows in real ops work. Strong written English - runbooks, RFCs, and postmortems are core deliverables. Hard Skills - Nice-to-Have: Kubernetes operational experience (CKA welcome but not required). Terraform or Ansible at intermediate-or-deeper depth. Multi-cloud literacy — you have shipped on more than one of AWS, GCP, Azure. Observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Sentry. Database operations beyond CRUD: replication, point-in-time recovery, query tuning. IPFS or other content-addressable / peer-to-peer storage operational experience. Security hardening - OWASP, basic pen-testing literacy, secrets-management tooling (Vault, SOPS, AWS SM). Cost engineering - you have right-sized a cloud bill before. Cloud or Kubernetes certifications. Soft Skills: Calm under outages - you reach for tail -f before you reach for blame. Pragmatism: you can tell when introducing Kubernetes is correct and when it is yak-shaving. Documentation discipline - if it isn't in a runbook, it doesn't exist. Comfortable saying "no" or "not yet" to premature complexity. 📜 Our Promise (what you can expect from us): 30-33k PLN on B2B 100% remote work 300 PLN to use on our benefits platform, Worksmile - gift cards, medical services, sports, etc. Our B2B contract contains provisions that allow you to obtain IP BOX support Integration events, education opportunities and much more… A unique opportunity to take your career to the next level - we’re looking for people who want to create an impact.
