Mid-Level Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Brightstar Lottery Product Engineering Instants group is looking for a Midlevel Software Quality Assurance Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of our software solutions. You will be responsible for endtoend testing activities, contributing to both manual and automated testing, and supporting quality across complex, distributed systems.
This role requires autonomy, solid technical testing skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams in a fastpaced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive manual test cases and test scenarios.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing on web and backend systems.
Validate backend logic and data integrity using SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
Perform REST API testing using Bruno, Postman, or equivalent tools.
Actively contribute to UI test automation using Playwright, Robot Framework, or similar frameworks.
Track, manage, and report defects using JIRA.
Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps to ensure quality throughout the SDLC/STLC.
Review requirements and designs to identify testability gaps and potential risks early.
Support release activities by providing quality assessments and test reports.
Mentor junior QA engineers and promote QA best practices within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field.
4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
Strong experience with manual testing and proven exposure to test automation.
Solid understanding of test design techniques and QA methodologies.
Handson experience with SQL for backend and data validation (PostgreSQL preferred).
Proven experience testing REST APIs.
Experience using JIRA and test management tools such as XRAY.
Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes.
Strong communication skills in English (B2/C1), written and spoken.
Ability to work independently and effectively within distributed teams.

Strong experience with Playwright or Robot Framework for UI automation.
Experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).
Familiarity with eventdriven systems and Kafka.
Understanding of microservices architectures.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
Scripting skills (e.g., Python) for test support or automation.
Experience testing highavailability or distributed systems.
