Automation Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Design and execute test scenarios for Android mobile features, including edge cases.
Build and maintain stable mobile automation tests using Appium (Java/Kotlin).
Debug issues using Android Studio, Logcat, and network tools to identify root causes.
Improve automation frameworks and expand test coverage.
Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
Write clean, maintainable automation code and follow best practices.
Own testing for small to medium mobile features end-to-end.
Qualifications and Technical Knowledge
Practical experience (3+ years).
Strong experience in mobile testing (Android), including understanding of mobile app architecture and lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with Appium for mobile test automation.
Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin for writing and maintaining automation tests.
Solid understanding of mobile-specific testing challenges (network conditions, device fragmentation, OS versions, performance constraints).
Experience with API testing and backend validation to support mobile testing.
Proficiency in SQL queries for test data validation.
Experience with debugging tools such as (Android Studio Logcat, Chrome DevTools or Postman / Charles Proxy).
Strong understanding of testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, exploratory).
Familiarity with Agile workflows and defect tracking tools.
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
Experience working with Android Studio (log analysis, debugging, emulator/device configuration).
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of mobile automation (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Experience with test automation frameworks design and maintenance.
