About the position
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Assurance Engineer with a minimum of five years of professional experience to join our team for a project with a key client in the insurance industry.
This position is automation-focused, with automated testing forming the core of daily responsibilities, complemented by limited manual testing activities to support overall product quality. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions while ensuring high quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will collaborate closely with development teams, product stakeholders, and clients to ensure that delivered solutions meet defined functional, technical, and quality requirements. Depending on your experience, you will also have the opportunity to introduce new testing tools and actively contribute to improving testing strategies and quality processes, including but not limited to OWASP and ISO/IEC 27034.
Key responsibilities
Analyze requirements and ensure testability
Prepare test strategies, plans, and automation approach
Design, develop, and execute automated and manual tests
Identify, track, and support resolution of defects
Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Support releases, production deployments, and post-release validation
Ensure product quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Collaborate with development teams, clients, and stakeholders
Mentor QA engineers and support knowledge sharing
Coordinate QA activities and testing priorities across teams
Define QA standards, processes, and quality strategy
Drive continuous improvement of QA and automation practices
Competencies
Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer / Lead QA with strong automation testing expertise
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test strategy, and software testing best practices
Hands-on experience with Playwright (experience with additional languages or frameworks is considered an asset)
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman
Practical experience with Jira and Confluence
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and quality ownership mindset
Critical thinking and proactive approach to quality improvement
Independence, accountability, and ability to drive QA initiatives
Experience mentoring team members and supporting knowledge sharing within the team
Experience coordinating testing activities or guiding QA efforts across projects
Experience in direct client communication, gathering requirements, and providing quality-related feedback
Ability to define and promote QA standards, processes, and best practices
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Software development experience will be considered an additional asset
Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Fluency in English
