At Pretius, we are looking for QA Engineer to a global-scale platform in the field of gaming and lotteries project. The role involves end-to-end testing, contributing to both manual and automated testing, and ensuring quality across complex, distributed systems.
Work mode: hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Location: Warsaw
Project / Role
Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive manual test cases and test scenarios.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing on web and backend systems.
Validate backend logic and data integrity using SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
Perform REST API testing using Bruno, Postman, or equivalent tools.
Actively contribute to UI test automation using Playwright, Robot Framework, or similar frameworks.
Track, manage, and report defects using JIRA.
Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps to ensure quality throughout the SDLC/STLC.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field.
4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
Strong experience with manual testing and proven exposure to test automation.
Solid understanding of test design techniques and QA methodologies.
Handson experience with SQL for backend and data validation (PostgreSQL preferred).
Proven experience testing REST APIs.
Experience using JIRA and test management tools such as XRAY.
Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes.
Strong communication skills in English (B2/C1), written and spoken.
Ability to work independently and effectively within distributed teams.
Nice to have:
Strong experience with Playwright or Robot Framework for UI automation.
Experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).
Familiarity with eventdriven systems and Kafka.
Understanding of microservices architectures.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
Scripting skills (e.g., Python) for test support or automation.

In this role, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and end-users to ensure the highest standards of software quality across the entire development lifecycle. What you will be doing: Designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, including functional, integration, regression, UI, and data validation testing. Actively identifying software defects and providing actionable feedback on product usability. Creating and maintaining test automation scripts, as well as participating in peer code reviews. Collaborating directly with business stakeholders to gather, understand, and refine requirements. Taking part in agile ceremonies and technical brainstorming sessions. Identifying potential technical risks early in the development pipeline. Mentoring the team on QA best practices and optimizing internal developer testing frameworks. Assisting with the creation of internal documentation and helping train end-users on new application features. What is expected of you: At least 3 years of commercial experience in a Software QA / Testing role. Solid coding skills in Python, Java, or C# . You should be comfortable reading code, writing scripts, and getting your hands dirty to effectively "break" applications. Actively using AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, etc.) on a daily basis to accelerate your coding, write better tests, and quickly learn new platforms. Practical knowledge of test automation frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git ). Strong analytical mindset, great time management, and a highly adaptable, problem-solving attitude. Eagerness to learn new platforms and technologies quickly. We welcome candidates with experience in both the gaming industry and financial or banking software. Responsibilities Developing and executing a wide range of functional tests for online slot games. Testing browser-based and mobile games (Android & iOS). Performing functional testing of the gambling system. Testing game and system integrations with external operators. Performing sanity, regression, retests, exploratory, and acceptance tests. Ensuring compliance of products with regulatory requirements. Planning tests and maintaining a repository of test cases. Preparing test cases in cooperation with developers, designers, and artists. Reviewing and defining technical requirements based on technical documentation. Reporting identified defects. Preparing and submitting games for external certification laboratories. Contributing to improving QA processes and tools. Participating in the implementation of AI solutions in QA processes.
