The Role: Principal Software Engineer – Engineering Workbench
Location: Poland – Gdansk
The Team: This position is part of the Engineering Workbench team – a cross-functional Scrum team responsible for the product’s full development lifecycle, including architecture design, implementation, testing, delivery, and maintenance.
As a Principal Software Engineer on the Engineering Workbench team, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the development of new features and enhancements across the full technology stack. The Principal Software Engineer is engaged with development, IT, and product owner teams to build strategic architectures and frameworks that tackle complex business initiatives and deliver global commercial software releases.

Responsibilities:
Design and develop cutting-edge cloud-native applications and services with emphasis on customer ease of use, performance, and scalability
Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team, guiding architecture design and ensuring best practices in code quality, security, and maintainability
Build and deliver solutions using the Microsoft .NET technology stack on AWS, following high standards for code, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Participate in the Agile Scrum development process, including sprint planning, grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure iterative and incremental delivery of value
Work with the project team and internal customers (Product Owners and other stakeholders) to establish, understand, and refine requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
Play an active role in on-time, high-quality delivery of software through the entire application lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively incorporate relevant improvements and innovations into our products
What we’re looking for:
Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years of experience in software development, including experience as a senior engineer or technical lead delivering web-based applications
Experience in microservices architecture and designing cloud-native systems
Full-stack development experience, including familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g. Angular or React) in addition to backend expertise
Passion for software development – enthusiasm for new technologies and their potential to make an impact

Highly collaborative – an affinity for solving complex problems through dialogue and teamwork

This team maintains systems that helps Prime Finance analyze the Risk of each of our clients as well as potential clients. The team designs and maintains sophisticated automated solutions to make this happen. As a computing intensive financial solution, the team requires a candidate with excellent technology skills. The candidate should be a team player with the ability to work well with a global team of developers on delivering solutions in the Prime Finance area. Must have a solid understanding and experience with project delivery, software development life cycle, JavaScript modern frameworks, Java application technologies, databases and Linux. Work with project managers, business and senior managers to deliver well-architected scalable solutions in a timely project-oriented manner.
