It’s not just a job — together, we’re on a mission. We're committed to accelerating the energy transition, with the goal of empowering 2 million sustainable energy installations by 2035. But we cannot achieve this goal alone. We are looking for talents to strengthen our team, and work with others on what really matters.

The team you will join

At iChoosr, you will join a team of 140 goal getters with a proactive approach, strong sense of ownership and strong interpersonal skills. Your colleagues work across the US, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Poland, Japan and Macedonia. You will join the Middleware+ Team that consists of a Tech Lead, developers, an QA specialist, a product manager and DevOps engineer. The team is the architectural backbone of our platform responsible for designing and building core microservices. Beyond that the team owns the foundational infrastructure, managing our cloud resources.

Job description
As a Software Engineer Team Lead, you will lead a high-performing team operating within our cloud-native ecosystem. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will contribute directly to our .NET and Azure-based ecosystem while taking accountability for the team’s operational success. This position is designed for an experienced leader who is ready to scale. We are looking for someone with the capacity to eventually bridge two teams, balancing the oversight of both while naturally transitioning more of your time from active coding to mentoring and cross-team coordination. Your mission is to drive delivery standards, optimize workflows, and scale the team’s capabilities. You are the primary advocate for your engineers, ensuring that the team remains unblocked, high-functioning, and aligned with our broader engineering culture of excellence. You will lead by example, writing clean code and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in an environment built for speed and scalability.

Tech stack: .NET, Azure, CI/CD Pipelines, MS Entra, Redis

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain an active presence in the codebase (.NET), leading by example through high-quality PRs and consistent technical contributions.

  • Own the day-to-day delivery of the team. You are responsible for ensuring the team meets its commitments and maintains a high "Say/Do" ratio.

  • Manage team resource allocation and workload balancing to ensure sustainable high performance without burnout.

  • Lead the personal growth, performance reviews, and career development of the team’s 3–5 engineers while co-creating and executing a top-tier talent pipeline.

  • Proactively identify and resolve process or people-related bottlenecks that hinder the team’s velocity.

  • Act as a partner for the Product Manager on Sprint Goals and for the Tech Lead on system architecture.

  • Monitor and optimize team performance through DORA (and other) metrics.

Your expertise

  • Strong experience in backend microservices development with a deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of modern software delivery lifecycles, including CI/CD, automated testing (unit, integration, E2E), and observability.

  • Exceptional skill in unblocking people-related issues and facilitating "blame-free" post-mortems and continuous feedback loops.

  • Prepare to scale your impact by eventually taking over the people leadership of a second team as the organization grows.

  • Ability to interpret system performance data and developer feedback to continuously refine team processes and tooling.

  • A proven track record of managing an engineering team is a must.

Our commitment to you

  • Contribute to a more sustainable world on a daily basis.

  • Competitive salary.

  • Comprehensive health benefits package.

  • Flexible work arrangements (remote & hybrid working).

  • Professional development opportunities (Mentor/mentee program & buddy program).

  • International company event once a year.

  • Lunch provided by the office.

  • Cultural holiday swap.

  • Day off on your birthday.

  • Possibility to travel.

Come be a part of our team!

If this role fits you, we would love to hear from you.
