Skywise is looking for a technical leader to drive the evolution of our predictive modeling frameworks. In this role, you will combine hands-on senior-level Python engineering with some strategic responsibilities of a Solutions Architect. You will lead the engineering discipline for advanced python libraries, ensuring our technical design aligns with long-term business goals and the highest architectural standards.
Responsibilities:
Lead & Mentor: Help build and guide a team of developers, foster a culture of technical excellence and drive the adoption of best practices.
Architectural Blueprinting: Translate business needs into scalable technical designs and roadmaps, ensuring our software aligns with the broader Skywise strategy.
Technology Strategy: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and framework optimization.
Hands-on Excellence: Develop and optimize complex backend systems using Python and PySpark, ensuring high performance and cost efficiency.
Frontend Integration: Oversee the architectural design of frontend components built in Slate, collaborating with teams to ensure seamless integration.
Customer Requests management: Ensure product strategy, design, and implementation evolve with ever-changing customer desires and business needs. Applying a customer-centric mindset along with design thinking tools to deliver solutions that are desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable. Collect & apply feedback from customers and stakeholders.
Vision & roadmap: Define roadmaps for product evolutions, contribute to vision, understand market forces, represent end-users, support global backlog prioritization.
Follow-up of delivery: support the team in delivering value. Participate in the extended Product Management team defining business priorities and program backlog refinement.
Portfolio Management: Oversees the health of the application portfolio by identifying technical debt, managing product lifecycles (EOL), and ensuring cost-effective investments.

Cross-Functional Consultation: Acts as a key advisor to Product Owners and Agile teams, providing the "architectural runway" and guidance needed to build scalable, integrated solutions.
Must Haves:
Senior Expertise: 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring teams. Knowledge of DevOps principles.
Python Mastery: Advanced knowledge of Python, including system design, performance tuning, and building distributed systems.
Architectural Mindset: Experience or strong interest in software architecture principles (UML, microservices, cloud-native patterns) and a desire to grow into a full Solutions Architect role.
Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to resonate with engineers, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
Curiosity: Interest in HTML/JS and the Palantir Slate framework. We value a "T-shaped" professional who can see the big picture. Ability to research autonomously in R&D topics.
Education: BS in Computer Science or related field.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain .NET (C#) applications, ranging from cloud-native microservices hosted on AWS to monolithic architectures designed for local environments. Implement unit, component, and functional tests to ensure software reliability. Work within a small agile team to deliver new features and fix defects. Assist in building and improving development processes while participating in code reviews. Required Skills/Experience: 1+ years of professional experience in software development.
