As part of the Digital Incentives team, you will apply hands-on engineering skills to develop and maintain product capabilities used by millions of customers via multiple brand websites across the world. You will be building your backend API and frontend expertise using latest industry tools and cloud providers.

As part of the Commercial Digital Products organization, you have the opportunity to impact how P&G touches the lives of our consumers through our Digital Platforms. You belong to a team called Digital Incentives that is responsible for development and maintenance of digital campaign, couponing, samples and loyalty solution. 

Based in Warsaw, our largest European IT hub, this is a global role meaning you will work in a geographically dispersed multicultural and diverse environment. In P&G, we form an agile, collaborative environment with a blameless culture. The team is composed of 3 people from Warsaw and 1 from Manila. 

How success looks like

  • Develop features on time (based on sprint cycles) and with quality (based on engineering standards),  

  • Deliver proof of concepts with excellence based on success criteria defined,

  • Produce technical documentation for developed components according to set criteria,

  • Pursue opportunities for professional growth, applying new insights to enhance project outcomes and team practices

Responsibilities of the role

  • Develop and maintain software components using TypeScript, NestJS on Google Cloud to create cohesive applications,

  • Implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs that integrate seamlessly with our applications, enhancing functionality and user experience,

  • Contribute to the design and development of our Digital Incentives and Loyalty solutions, helping to drive customer engagement,

  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support development processes and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team,

  • Work closely with the P&G product team and external vendors to align technology solutions with business requirements and objectives,

  • Uphold and promote best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in our engineering processes.

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in IT software development, creating backend services preferably using NestJS

  • Fluency in systems design 

  • Experience in RESTful API design and development

  • Experience with application containerization 

  • Familiarity with database technologies, SQL and noSQL databases 

  • Problem solving skills and positive attitude towards challenges and change 

  • Strong self-leadership, teamwork, innovation and analytical skills 

  • English fluency, ability to effectively communicate in English both in speech and writing 

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Systems Engineering, Software Development or related 

 

Nice to have 

  • Experience in maintenance and/or lifecycle management of applications,

  • Experience in building and operating Cloud native software (any of: Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS),

  • Experience with CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions,

  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum/SAFe concepts, 

  • IT certification (i. e. Bootcamp, SCRUM or Cloud Certification).

The newly created organization, being an integral part of the Global Digital & Technology Function , is tasked with maintaining, but most importantly developing (functionally and technologically) IT solutions supporting the Commerce area at Heineken. Commerce DevOps Hub is located in Kraków and will include highly qualified IT professionals with direct contribution to both the technological development of the Heineken Commerce and the Hub itself. As the Senior Software Development Engineer , you will be part of the development team responsible for developing in-house products in the Order Tribe. Collaborating closely with Product Owner(s), Product Architect(s) and other team members you will need to understand the business needs, helping Product Architect(s) to convert those needs into solution architecture specifications and services in line with overall engineering standards and roadmaps. Driving excellence in engineering practices to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle in our Commerce IT landscape, will be important element of your role. We believe in supporting what you build. As part of the development team, you are supporting production incident management at the L2 and L3 levels. After developing runbooks the L2 support will be gradually migrated to the central support team. Also, emphasis on proactive observability will be required to ensure stability in our production environments around the world. Your responsibilities would include: Software Development & Backend Engineering develop, test, and maintain high-performance applications using ASP.NET 8, C#, and .NET 8 framework troubleshoot and debug complex issues to ensure seamless application functionality implement authentication and authorization using ASP.NET Core Identity and OpenIddict .NET 8 design and develop background jobs using Hangfire for task automation work with SQL Server, optimizing performance and designing ORM models using Entity Framework Core 8 Cloud & Azure Services develop and deploy cloud-based applications on Microsoft Azure work with Azure PaaS services, including Azure App Service, Storage Account, SQL Server, and Application Gateway implement caching solutions using Redis Cache and optimize messaging workflows with Azure Service Bus Queue monitor application performance using Azure Application Insights design and integrate workflows using Azure Logic Apps UI & Frontend Development develop and maintain Single Page Applications (SPA) using Angular JS 1.2, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript build modern, scalable frontends using Angular 16, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS with PWA support ensure responsive and user-friendly UI/UX designs DevOps & Tools work with Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD pipelines, and artifact management use static code analysis tools like SonarQube to ensure code quality and maintainability collaborate with integration middleware tools such as APIC and Dell Boomi for system integrations Performance Optimization & Best Practices identify performance bottlenecks and implement necessary optimizations ensure code follows best practices, security standards, and industry guidelines participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical discussions to improve team efficiency. You are a good candidate if you have: 8+ years in software development experience, with expertise in backend, cloud, and frontend technologies proficiency in ASP.NET 8, C#, .NET 8, authentication, background job processing (Hangfire), and database management (SQL Server, Entity Framework Core 8) 2+ years in Microsoft Azure, working with PaaS services, caching (Redis), messaging (Service Bus Queue), and monitoring (Application Insights). Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and static code analysis (SonarQube) 1-2 years in Frontend Development: e.g. SPA development using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, with a focus on responsive UI/UX and PWA support strong understanding of performance optimization, secure coding standards, code reviews, and system integrations proactive mindset with experience in technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and improving team efficiency.
