Description

As a DevOps Manager, you will lead DevOps and cross-functional efforts that enable SaaS platforms to operate securely, reliably, and at scale. You will provide technical direction for platforms and delivery practices for Java 21 and Node.js applications, event-driven services using Kafka, and infrastructure running on OpenShift and AWS. You will coordinate delivery across engineering, product, Enterprise IT, security, networking, data, and operations, managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and support DevOps/infrastructure team members; set priorities and delivery expectations
• Guide delivery for Java 21 services, Maven multi-module projects, Node.js applications, and Vite-based frontend builds
• Provide technical direction for containerized platforms using OpenShift and Podman
• Guide AWS platform practices including IAM; evaluate or use AWS Bedrock where appropriate
• Oversee infrastructure and integrations involving Kafka, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Apigee, F5, and Alkira networking
• Promote automation, repeatable infrastructure practices, secure delivery, and operational readiness
• Coordinate cross-team delivery, surface blockers early, and resolve conflicts diplomatically
• Own initiative planning through deployment and ongoing optimization
• Ensure infrastructure/connectivity meets availability, resilience, security, performance, and cost expectations
• Lead CI/CD improvements using Bamboo; standardize source control, testing, deployment, and rollback
• Establish service-level objectives and operational readiness criteria
• Drive monitoring, logging, alerting, capacity planning, and disaster recovery/resilience testing
• Coordinate incident response, root-cause analysis, and follow-up actions
• Partner with security and Enterprise IT to incorporate security into delivery workflows

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or related fields
• Experience managing, mentoring, or leading technical teams and coordinating across multiple teams
• Demonstrated ability to manage dependencies, resolve conflicts, communicate risks, and align teams toward delivery
• Practical technical leadership across Java 21 and Maven multi-module, Kafka and PostgreSQL, OpenShift and Podman
• AWS experience including IAM; familiarity with AWS Bedrock
• Experience with Snowflake, Bamboo CI/CD, Apigee, F5, and Alkira networking
• Linux experience
• Node.js and Vite experience
• Python for scripting/automation
• Understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, containers, networking, and production operations
