Description

You will design, build, and operate ML systems powering menu personalization across global digital platforms. The work spans feature pipelines, training workflows, model serving, experimentation tooling, and the underlying infrastructure, with accountability from design through deployment and ongoing operations. You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Backend Engineers, and Product to transition models and ideas from research into production.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate data products and ML systems behind menu personalization across pipelines, training, serving, experimentation tooling, and infrastructure

• Transition experiments and research into reliable production systems meeting real latency, scalability, and observability needs

• Maintain end-to-end accountability for significant components of the recommender stack

• Operate systems in production: instrument, monitor, and continuously refine based on real-world performance

• Contribute to the personalization roadmap with Product and Engineering using data and user evidence

• Raise the team’s technical bar through code/design reviews and production ML craft guidance

• Work beyond specialization when required by the problem

Requirements

• 5 years (ideally) experience building and operating production ML systems

• Hands-on experience with AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) beyond casual experimentation

• Fluency across the data and ML stack (Python, Apache Spark) and practical working knowledge of backend/platform stack (Kafka, Kubernetes)

• Hands-on experience with feature pipelines, model serving, and observability at scale

• Deep data/ML engineering expertise with experience operating models or data products in production

• Statistical literacy to design solid experiments and interpret results

• Production experience with recommender systems or large-scale personalization is a strong plus

• Operational judgment to diagnose production misbehavior under real load and deploy robust fixes

• Full ownership and delivery mindset; bias to ship

• Product sense and ability to back technical choices with data and user evidence
