Description

The Nutanix Systems Engineer drives customer adoption of Nutanix products by administering and supporting existing Nutanix environments and providing expert guidance on best practices and reference architecture. The role covers end-to-end operational work—installation/configuration, upgrades/patching, migrations, monitoring/remediation, troubleshooting, capacity planning, VM lifecycle management, and DR drill participation—along with customer enablement and Proofs of Concept (PoCs). You collaborate with Nutanix Support and vendors to resolve advanced technical issues and support ongoing customer status reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assess current Nutanix (core and portfolio) usage and drive adoption
• Apply Nutanix best practices and architecture knowledge to propose solution options
• Administer and support Nutanix environments: install/configure core products; perform upgrades and patching
• Lead migrations (e.g., 3-tier to Nutanix; cross-hypervisor such as ESXi to AHV)
• Proactively monitor alerts, remediate issues, and troubleshoot performance/availability problems
• Manage capacity planning and reporting
• Perform VM lifecycle management (create/delete/clone/snapshot, etc.)
• Collaborate with Nutanix Support for advanced troubleshooting
• Participate in DR drill planning and execution
• Act as a trusted advisor for validated designs, reference architecture, and Nutanix best practices
• Guide and mentor junior team members on day-to-day Nutanix administration
• Liaise with Nutanix Support and/or third-party vendors to resolve technical issues
• Use Nutanix features to automate administrative tasks
• Work with the Sales Team to identify and communicate opportunities and customer status
• Provide project status updates, software update notes, and supporting documentation
• Run Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for Nutanix portfolio products
• Train and enable customer resources

Requirements

• 5+ years of system administration and virtualization experience
• Strong knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV and/or Hyper-V and VMware ESXi
• Ability to independently analyze and diagnose highly complex problems across different platforms
• Excellent communication skills and strong customer-centric approach
• Arabic speaker (required for Public Sector team support in KSA)
