Description

You will take ownership of the desktop experience for an AI-native, agent-first communication application. The role focuses on building cross-platform Electron apps with real-time messaging and collaboration, integrating AI-powered assistance, and implementing native desktop functionality. You will optimize performance, startup speed, and memory usage while ensuring a smooth experience across macOS and Windows.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and improve cross-platform desktop applications using Electron and TypeScript
• Create responsive interfaces for real-time messaging and collaboration
• Integrate AI-powered features such as chat, agents, and intelligent assistance
• Implement native desktop functionality: notifications, file system access, auto-updates, and deep linking
• Optimize application performance, startup speed, and memory usage
• Manage local data, application state, and message history
• Ensure reliable user experience across macOS and Windows

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience building and shipping production Electron applications
• Experience with React or a similar modern UI framework
• Solid understanding of Electron architecture, application lifecycle, and IPC communication
• Experience with local storage solutions such as SQLite, IndexedDB, or filesystem-based storage
• Familiarity with WebSockets or other real-time communication technologies
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
• Proactive, independent mindset and genuine interest in building great products
