Description

Manage and operate the data center infrastructure, covering everything from classic storage to modern Azure cloud architecture. You will restore systems and data, support server and storage structures, and run lifecycle management in the datacenter. You’ll implement and evolve solutions while participating in cloud migrations with a focus on security, availability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for datacenter infrastructure for the chemistry site: from storage to Azure cloud architecture
• System and data restoration
• Administration and care of server and storage environments
• Datacenter lifecycle management
• Identify optimization opportunities and independently improve existing systems
• Develop and implement solutions and concepts for your scope
• Support and shape cloud migrations, considering security, availability, and performance
• Collaborate with internal experts and external partners
• Create, update, and monitor documentation, instructions, and restart/runbook plans
• Contribute to stable and secure IT operations for the IT environment of the chemistry site

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, IT technician training, business/technical qualification, or comparable education
• Multi-year IT experience, ideally in system administration
• First or solid knowledge of technologies such as VMware vSphere, Veeam, Linux, or comparable platforms (preferred)
• Very good German skills (at least C1) in speaking and writing
• Analytical and structured working style; ability to handle complex technical issues in a solution-oriented manner
• Interest and motivation to work in and take responsibility for operating and further developing modern infrastructures
