Quick Facts

  • Role: Senior Fleet Debugger

Description

Design and deliver AI-native, end-to-end system debug solutions for hyperscale datacenter and cloud infrastructure. Build agentic workflows and reusable diagnostic capabilities to accelerate failure detection, triage, root-cause analysis, mitigation, remediation, and learning at scale. Lead complex investigations and drive measurable improvements in fleet readiness, reliability, diagnosability, and recoverability.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver AI-native end-to-end debug solutions combining telemetry, automation, and agentic workflows.

  • Design and orchestrate human-agent engineering workflows for failure detection, triage, segmentation, root-cause analysis, mitigation, remediation, and learning.

  • Build reusable agentic tools and workflows that enable autonomous or human-supervised execution at scale.

  • Lead cross-functional debug and root-cause initiatives across hardware, firmware, software, platform, and datacenter systems.

  • Own measurable improvements in reliability and debug effectiveness (faster isolation, reduced time to root cause, automation coverage, prevention of repeat failures).

  • Lead investigation of complex, ambiguous failures when automated/agentic systems face novel scenarios or conflicting signals.

  • Develop at-scale debug methodologies, diagnostic strategies, validation techniques, and automated test routines.

  • Engineer closed-loop learning systems that turn incidents and debug evidence into reusable knowledge.

  • Define safe and governed agentic execution models (human-in-the-loop controls, validation, observability, permissions, escalation paths).

  • Drive transition from engineer-driven execution to outcome-driven engineering with engineer-defined intent and guardrails.

  • Provide technical leadership on AI/agent/diagnostic/telemetry/automation technologies.

  • Communicate technical insights, decisions, risks, and progress using data-driven narratives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent).

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Benefits

  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation (additional pay and benefits details available via Microsoft Careers).
