Description

You will define and develop metrics and evaluation products to enable rapid debugging, testing, and performance assessment of autonomous vehicle software. The work combines on-road driving analysis, large-scale simulation, models, and dashboards to create data-driven evaluation outputs. You’ll collaborate with machine learning engineers, infrastructure engineers, and roboticists to solve open-ended evaluation problems.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop metrics for rapid debugging, testing, and evaluation
• Build data-driven evaluation products using on-road analysis, simulation, models, and dashboards
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop novel solutions to open-ended problems
• Partner with the Planning & Control team to develop and drive software testing strategies

Requirements

• MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in a relevant field (data science, electrical/mechanical/aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or similar)
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, data science, and/or experiment design
• Advanced Python proficiency with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib
• Familiarity with Git in Linux (Ubuntu) or another Unix-based system
• Ability to quickly ramp up on new technical domains
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

• Base salary range: $184,000–$287,500 (Level 4) or $224,000–$356,500 (Level 5)
