Description

You will build and extend a Calypso-based vendor platform used for fixed income, FX, and derivatives workflows. The work is engineering-led: you will implement and enhance Calypso features (APIs, workflows, engines, events, reporting, scheduled tasks) rather than only configuring UI components. This is a long-term, remote role with ownership over core development and close collaboration with business analysts and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Calypso APIs, workflows, engines, events, reporting, and scheduled tasks using Java

• Integrate Calypso with external systems using MQ, Kafka, and Webservice/HTTP

• Write and optimize SQL; troubleshoot database issues in Oracle-backed Calypso environments

• Support Calypso applications on Linux/Unix; use shell scripting to automate development and operational tasks

• Maintain and improve build, deployment, and release processes using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and JFrog Artifactory

• Work from business analyst tickets and requirements; think critically to shape solutions

• Fix defects, participate in code reviews, and maintain code quality

• Support testing and validation before changes reach production

• Use AI tools to speed up development or testing where it makes sense

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on Calypso development experience (V17+ strongly preferred)

• 5+ years Java development experience

• Experience with the Calypso collateral management module

• Strong SQL and database experience, preferably Oracle

• Strong DevOps experience across source control, build automation, deployment automation, and release management

• Hands-on experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and JFrog Artifactory

• Solid understanding of fixed income, FX, interest rate derivatives, and credit derivatives

• Experience supporting high-volume trading environments in investment banking/capital markets

• Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally in structured project environments

• Ability to deal with ambiguity; ask clear questions and proactively develop solutions

• Strong communication skills in trader-facing, high-stakes settings

• Ability to maintain 3–4 hour overlap with US Eastern business hours (more flexibility during onboarding)

• Residents of Poland or Romania only; citizens/legal residents with work permission welcome
