Role Description

Own and improve key areas of a Rails 8.1 application that supports travel agents in viewing, managing, and processing booking information. Contribute to architecture, code reviews, technical planning, and engineering practices that raise code quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features in a Rails 8.1 application serving real customer traffic
• Take ownership from design through production
• Collaborate on architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical planning
• Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability; refactor legacy parts where valuable
• Support deployments, monitoring, and production troubleshooting
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party travel suppliers and internal services
• Promote automated testing, CI/CD, clear documentation, and sensible upgrade paths
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to deliver well-scoped technical solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Ruby
• Strong, hands-on production experience with Ruby on Rails (Rails 7/8)
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including running Rails applications
• Relational databases and SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL or MySQL)
• Automated testing experience with RSpec or Minitest
• Proactive, ownership-driven approach with the ability to work autonomously
• Upper-intermediate English or higher
