Description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer (Python) to take ownership of the technical development of new solutions and help build an engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable systems; integrate new features into an existing codebase; and make architectural decisions while ensuring quality, performance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable systems
• Develop software using Python
• Integrate new features into an existing codebase
• Solve complex technical challenges and make architectural decisions
• Ensure quality, performance, and reliability of developed solutions
• Collaborate with QA and contribute to engineering team growth
• Support junior and mid-level engineers as the team grows
• Effectively leverage AI tools in the software development process while maintaining strong quality control

Requirements

• Several years of commercial software development experience with Python
• Experience building complex, reliable, mission-critical systems
• Proven track record of contributing to challenging technology projects
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make independent technical decisions
• High level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability
• Experience working with existing codebases and extending established solutions
• Willingness to learn new technologies and deepen domain knowledge

Highly Valued

• Experience with Go
• Knowledge of networking, network infrastructure, or distributed systems
• Experience in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, aviation, or other technically demanding domains
• Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership
• Practical experience using AI in software development
