Description

You will design, develop, test, and deploy products spanning large-scale distributed backend services, data pipelines, ML-driven cost estimation, and agentic automation. You’ll guide your team through technical roadmap planning and raise the engineering bar while partnering with Finance, procurement, and vendor-facing stakeholders. This role emphasizes reliability, security, and ownership with direct business impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy secure, low-latency services and data pipelines for pricing, quoting, sourcing, and cost estimation

• Lead development of ML and statistical cost-estimation and forecasting models from prototype to production with monitoring and business guardrails

• Build agentic and LLM-powered workflows to automate manual steps in quoting, sourcing, and vendor operations, including evaluation and quality controls

• Decompose complex supply-chain problems into simple solutions and understand system interdependencies and limitations

• Partner with Finance and procurement to translate business problems into technical solutions and drive measurable impact

• Share knowledge and mentor engineers on performance, scalability, system architecture, ML/GenAI practices, and engineering best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)

• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language

• 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling)

• Knowledge of full SDLC best practices: coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years across the full software development life cycle, including build processes and operations

• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent

• Track record automating work with ML/automation and delivering measurable impact

• Experience productionizing ML/statistical models for prediction, forecasting, or estimation (pricing, cost, demand, time-series)

• Experience designing and shipping agentic/LLM-powered workflows (tool-calling agents, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-step automation), including prompt design, evaluation, and guardrails

• Experience integrating foundation models (e.g., Amazon Bedrock) into backend services and measuring quality/regression for non-deterministic systems

• Experience building large-scale distributed backend services and data pipelines (event-driven, batch and streaming)
