Description

Locums psychiatrist needed for a hospital-based inpatient acute psychiatric unit with a 7 on/7 off schedule. The role covers 16–20 patients per day and requires experience with involuntary commitments, seclusion, restraints, and pharmacotherapy. Residents are supervised on site, with sign-off responsibilities for one APP per shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care in an acute psychiatric unit
• Manage involuntary commitments
• Perform seclusion therapy and restraint application as needed
• Deliver pharmacotherapy
• Prefer participation in group and family therapy
• Supervise residents and sign off notes for 1 APP on shift

Requirements

• Ability to work a 7 on/7 off schedule (Monday start, Sunday end)
• Experience with involuntary commitments
• Experience with seclusion therapy and restraint application
• Ability to provide pharmacotherapy
• Ability to supervise residents and sign off notes for an APP per shift
• Experience with both adult and pediatric patients (pediatric age range 5+)
